How many times has the cable car service been suspended since its launch? Please add for what reasons.

Officers are drafting a response which will be sent shortly.

The Emirates Air Line has been temporarily closed during scheduled operating hours (for 10 minutes or more) for the following reasons since opening on 28 June 2012:

· At the request of the Port of London Authority for large or long ships to pass – nine times (frequency reflects additional traffic in connection with the Olympic and Paralympic Games)

· High winds (gusting above 21 m/sec) – five times

· Possibility of lightning – four times

· Mechanical/technical reasons – five times
